The Posterior Fixator is a spinal system for correction of Thoracolumbar fractures and used when controlled correction of the thoracolumbar spine is indicated.

The modern view of spinal surgery that has emerged during recent years of research has placed new demands on spinal instrumentation. The most important factors are stable anchorage,
a high level of flexibility and easy application for the surgeon. The PF instrumentation has been designed to fulfil these requirements. The PF device has been used clinically for many years.

Simple, Attractive, Easy To Apply
Only a single screwdriver is required for all handling and manoeuvring of the device. All adjustments are comfortably performed from a dorsal aspect, requiring a smaller incision and therefore with considerably less tissue damage and a quicker surgical procedure. The PF-device offers a sufficient degree of stability and an excellent and convenient reduction method.

A Unique Reduction System
The PF instrumentation provides an excellent and well controlled mode of reduction. The lordotic curve can be restored using the special reduction system. A sagittal shift including a kyphosis is also easy to reduce.

With handles mounted on the pedicle clamps the system provides leverage for any manipulation of the position of a vertebra in the spine. By attaching reduction clamps to the handles, the restoration of the vertebral position can be achieved in a slow, well controlled and accurate manner.

Numerous scientific publications are available for our Spinal Systems. One doctoral thesis by Dr L. Sjöström focus on Burst Fractures and the use of the PF-Posterior Fixator. Please send us e-mail if you would like reprints.
