ME-connector
This is a new polyaxial connector for the Anatomica Cervical system. The ME-connector consists of two half-cylinders connected by a central axle. The connector is locked by compression between the two parts as the set screw is tightened, this simultaneously locks the connector to the rod. With the ME connector the bone screw can be locked to the rod at any angle. This product provides a simple way of connecting screws to the rod in any construct. The connectors can either be assembled to the rod outside the wound and pressed on to the bone screws or they can be mounted on the bone screws and later connected by the rod. The connectors are designed to be used with the same bone screws as the screwlink.. This will give the surgeon the unique advantage of being able to decide what connector to use after the bone screws are in place. A new coupling can also be added to an already mounted construct.
The ME coupling is aimed at solving two or three level constructs where you do not need the flexible offset afforded by the loop and screwlink solution.		In combination with the C1-claw it provides an easy way of fixing the C1-C2 vertebras. It can also be used in combination with all the other Anatomica fixation devices in the same construct.
